The work of Virginia Garra explores the world around her, in a diversity of subjects and situations, while maintaining the same poetic gaze.
By drawing on an intimate memory, she incorporates family narratives into a personal mythology, showing how these can resonate with meaning beyond their function.
Everyday reality is filtered through the lens of her delicate yet precise gaze, which focuses on the hidden and enigmatic side, by bringing to the fore actions and objects that are far from their most predictable function. Sound is an important element that establishes the rhythm of the stories and amplifies the emotional intensity.
